Decrypting Files

To decrypt one or more files: Select one or more files previously encrypted by ShellToys (files with a .ste extension), right-click a selected file, and choose Decrypt File(s) from the ShellToys XP menu. Note that you can only decrypt multiple files in one action if each file was encrypted using the same key. A dialog will appear prompting you to enter the key that was used when encrypting the selected file(s). Type the key and click OK. If you want to delete the encrypted files, check the Deleteà checkbox. (The encrypted files are only removed once decryption has been successfully completed.) The unencrypted file will be added to the same folder as the encrypted file using its original name (the name of the encrypted file minus its .ste extension). If a file with this name already exists, you'll be given the choice of replacing it or canceling. You can also decrypt a single file by simply double-clicking its icon and entering the private key that was used to encrypt it.
